NO CATS!!!!!!!!!!
Was my answer to my young son who would frequently beg for a cat. Images would flash through my mind of the visits to my friend’s house and the hair from her many cats that stuck to my clothes. And after all, we are dog people right?

One day, years ago, my older son Jorge came home for a visit that lasted several months. With him arrived an unexpected guest, Indo Kitty, his furry pet cat! Much to my surprise, after their departure I found that not only did I miss my son but I also missed "Indo Kitty".

Cat books quickly began stacking up on my living room floor as my search for my very own cat began. Though my research covered many breeds of cats, my heart was settled on the “hairless” one. Thus, my obsession began!

I am a nurse (RN) by profession and have a great deal of love and dedication for my job. Over the years I found that I had little time for my own private life due to the demands of my job. The devotion to my cats has created a shift in my priorities that has brought about a perfect balance.

Ryan

My son Ryan is involved in the “fun” aspects of caring for our cats from playing with the kittens, snuggling with the cats, to birthing a litter on his own, an accomplishment that he is very proud of. Though I admit that he is growing and his interest is shifting to more pressing things on his mind!

My daughter Lina, now married and raising a baby, still enjoys coming home whenever possible to help spoil the kittens and cats. All of our cats/kittens live as part of our family. They are all held and snuggled on a daily basis. During her visits I threaten her and her husband Jonathan that grandma is sending the kittens home with JJ!

Jonathan & Lina

I enjoy going to cat shows to show off our “hairless” family members. This has provided me with the opportunity to network with people who have the same interest. Plus I admit that I have a competitive edge that drives me!

I could not have been more wrong about not having a cat and I can never imagine life without one.
